Dermal Fillers

— What It Is

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable gels — most commonly composed of hyaluronic acid (HA), a sugar molecule naturally present in skin tissue — that restore lost volume, smooth folds and lines, and reshape facial contours. FDA-approved HA brands stocked at Younger You Aesthetics include Juvederm, Restylane, the RHA Collection, Evolysse, and Versa, formulated in varying viscosities for different anatomical targets: thicker gels for deep structural support, softer gels for superficial lines, and ultra-resilient formulas for high-movement areas.

We also stock Radiesse — a calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) filler that is not HA-based. Rather than physically filling tissue with a gel, Radiesse provides immediate structural support and gradually stimulates the body's own collagen production. It's an excellent option for jawline, chin, and contouring goals where longer-lasting structural change is preferred — and it can also be hyper-diluted as a biostimulator across larger areas.

Hyaluronic acid fillers work by physically filling the targeted tissue plane while also attracting and retaining water molecules — producing immediate volume restoration that integrates naturally with surrounding facial tissue. HA results are temporary and fully reversible with hyaluronidase enzyme if needed. Radiesse is not reversible with hyaluronidase, but its results last longer than HA (typically 12–18 months or more) and continue to develop as collagen builds.

Younger You Aesthetics selects filler products and injection planes based on your goals, not the brand of the product or a one-size-fits-all protocol. Brands shift over time — your treatment plan is built around the outcome you want, and your provider matches the product to it.

Benefits of Dermal Fillers

I.

Restore Youthful Volume Without Surgery

Age-related facial volume loss causes the mid-face to flatten, jowls to develop, and lips to thin — dermal fillers address each of these concerns in a single in-office session. Younger You Aesthetics delivers precise volume replacement that re-lifts facial structure using hyaluronic acid injected at the correct anatomical depth.

II.

Sculpt and Define Facial Contours

Beyond volume replacement, dermal fillers sculpt. Our focus is always on the outcome — restored cheek projection, balanced jaw definition, refined lip shape, softened smile lines — not on the brand of the product. Younger You Aesthetics providers trained in facial anatomy identify the most efficient injection points for maximum structural impact, then select the product (HA gel or Radiesse) that best supports your goal.

III.

Smooth Deep Lines and Folds

Smile lines (nasolabial folds), marionette lines, and perioral lines respond directly to targeted filler placement along the fold's structural cause — not just surface filling. Younger You Aesthetics providers identify whether a fold is caused by volume loss, structural support deficit, or both, then address the root cause. Smile line filler is one of our most-requested filler treatments — clients ask for it more often than chin or tear-trough.

IV.

Immediate Results, Minimal Downtime

Dermal filler results are visible immediately following treatment, with final results settling within 2 weeks as any initial swelling resolves. Most Younger You Aesthetics clients in Sacramento and Northern California resume normal activities the same day. Bruising and swelling at injection sites are possible — most often mild and short-lived, but in some clients they can be more pronounced. Your provider will walk you through what to expect for your specific treatment plan, and aftercare guidance to minimize them.

Our Dermal Filler Process

  1. 01
    Step One

Facial Analysis with the Aura Device

Facial analysis is the foundation of every treatment plan at Younger You Aesthetics. We use the Aura facial analysis device to objectively map volume loss, fine lines and wrinkles, facial redness, and brown spots — taking the guesswork out of where to focus. The Aura analysis is also the primary tool we use to build personalized skincare regimens for our clients, and it's central to our commitment to long-term skin health (not just a single treatment outcome). Your provider then combines the Aura findings with hands-on assessment of bone structure, skin quality, and movement patterns to determine which filler products, viscosities, and injection planes will produce your optimal outcome.

  2. 02
    Step Two

    Pre-Treatment Preparation

Topical anesthetic is applied to the treatment area 20–30 minutes before injection. Most premium fillers also contain lidocaine (a local anesthetic) within the gel itself, minimizing injection discomfort. Your provider marks injection points based on your facial map.

  3. 03
    Step Three

    Precise Filler Injection

Using fine-gauge needles and/or blunt-tip cannulas depending on the treatment area, your Younger You provider injects filler at the planned anatomical depth and volume. Cannulas reduce bruising risk in vascular areas; needles allow precision in structural target sites. Your provider works systematically to build balanced, symmetrical results.

— The Authority

Expert Injectors at Younger You Aesthetics

Dermal filler outcomes are entirely dependent on injector skill — the same product produces very different results in different hands. Su Mann and the Younger You Aesthetics team completed advanced injectable training that includes detailed facial anatomy, injection plane selection, complication avoidance protocols, and the management of vascular anatomy in high-risk injection zones.

Every filler patient at our Sacramento, Yuba City, and Rancho Murieta locations receives treatment from licensed NP-level or supervised providers trained in the specific products being used. We do not delegate filler injections to untrained staff.

Common Questions About Dermal Fillers

How long do dermal fillers last?

Duration depends on the product, the area treated, and your individual metabolism. Cheek and jawline fillers using thick-viscosity products typically last 12–18 months. Lip fillers and fine-line fillers in high-movement areas last 9–12 months. Younger You Aesthetics schedules follow-up assessments to maintain your results at their optimal level.

Do dermal fillers hurt?

Most patients describe mild pressure and occasional stinging at injection sites. Younger You Aesthetics applies topical anesthetic before treatment, and most premium fillers contain lidocaine in the gel for in-treatment comfort. Cannula injection in vascular areas further reduces discomfort.

What is the difference between the filler brands you carry?

All of our hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers — Juvederm, Restylane, the RHA Collection, Evolysse, and Versa — are FDA-approved with distinct viscosity ranges and movement characteristics, and your provider selects the one that best matches your treatment goal. Radiesse is different — it's a calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) filler rather than HA, so it provides immediate structural support and gradually stimulates your own collagen production. Radiesse is well-suited to jawline and chin contouring, and can also be hyper-diluted as a biostimulator. Our focus is always on the result you want — not on which brand gets you there.

Can I combine dermal fillers with Botox?

Yes — and it's one of the most common combinations at Younger You Aesthetics. Botox, Dysport & Jeuveau address dynamic wrinkles from muscle movement while fillers restore structural volume. Together they address the full spectrum of facial aging in a single treatment plan.

What should I avoid after dermal filler treatment?

Younger You Aesthetics advises patients to avoid vigorous exercise, direct heat (saunas, hot yoga), and alcohol for 24 hours post-treatment. Sleeping on the treated area should be avoided the first night. Significant sun exposure should be minimized during the first week. Full written aftercare instructions are provided at every appointment.
